What are the do’s and don’ts of UPSC?
Make a proper study plan. First thing first. Solve Question papers As Much as possible. Solve previous years UPSC question papers, practice papers, and take mock tests as much as possible. What are preferences in UPSC?
After qualifying for the mains exam the candidate has to specify his/her choice of service preferences which are IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS (IT) along with other options as announced by the UPSC. There are separate groups for the list of services and the candidate has to choose order of preference.

What documents are required in UPSC interview?
Matriculation certificate: for proof of name and DOB. Degree certificate: for proof of educational qualification. Print-out of the e-Summon Letter. Government-issued Photo-id card. 2 recent passport size photographs, out of which one should be self-attested.
Is studying 5 hours a day enough for UPSC?
1) An aspirant may not be able to concentrate fully for the entire 5 hours; hence there will be gaps, 2) An aspirant has to study GS, optional, current affairs, etc., every day, and to divide the 5 hours, may not be effective. Hence, an aspirant should try to put at least 7-8 hours every day and gradually increase it.
How do I choose a home cadre?
Insider vacancies are filled first based on category. Candidates eligible for home cadre are allotted UPSC cadre after insider vacancies are filled. Outsider vacancies will be filled next.
What is the most chosen optional in UPSC?
Geography. Most of the aspirants choose Geography as their optional subject because it is noticed that it is the highest-scoring option in UPSC and the most popular among the candidates. Last year also there were a lot of toppers with this optional.
Can I wear jeans in UPSC interview?
Men should preferably have short hair. This is a matter of personal choice but it might not project a professional image if you have long hair. Avoid expensive and flashy jewellery. Don’t go in party wear or casual wear like jeans and T-shirts.
Can UPSC form be rejected?
Appeal against such rejection should be received in the Commission’s Office latest by 21-03-2022. (ii) Copy of the debit/credit card statement or Bank account statement as the case may be, in case the fees has been paid through debit/ credit card or through internet banking of authorized banks.
Can we carry pen in UPSC exam?
Unlike prelim, in mains exam aspirants can use any pen. There are certain advantages and disadvantages to each type of pen that you will want to take into account when choosing your writing instrument.
