Who will interview UPSC candidates?
Board members of UPSC conduct the interviews. It comprises four members and a chairperson. There are different types of UPSC interviews, depending upon the post. UPSC invites the remaining four members except for the chairman.
Can we choose medium in interview of UPSC?
Answer – The candidates, opting for Indian Language medium for the written part of the Civil Services (Main) Examination may choose either the same Indian Language or English or Hindi as the medium for the interview.
What actually happens in UPSC interview?
The panel takes 5-6 candidates at a time and each interview lasts for around 20 minutes. There is no time limit but they usually wrap under 20 – 30 minutes. The staff members call out the names one by one. A staff member escorts the candidate from one room to another for the interview.

How are UPSC candidates selected?
IPS Papers: Candidates have 9 papers in the mains stage. One Essay paper, four General Studies Papers, two language papers (of qualifying nature), two optional papers (Optional subject to be chosen by the candidate). Candidates who get through the UPSC Mains Exam will be summoned for interview/personality test round.
Is UPSC interview very difficult?

How many hours UPSC interview takes?

Can I wear jeans in UPSC interview?
Men should preferably have short hair. This is a matter of personal choice but it might not project a professional image if you have long hair. Avoid expensive and flashy jewellery. Don’t go in party wear or casual wear like jeans and T-shirts.
